After 6 weeks of hard work, and even harder heart attacks and high blood pressure, our master bathroom is done.
It most definitely as good as we want it to be, nor as good as it was, but the leak is stenched and we hope that we won't have to dig it up again for quite a while yet.
Rest assured however, that the minute I gather enough spare cash, I shall rip the bloody thing out again and redo it completely with new sanitary wear and tiles. It will do for now though.
You can barely notice from the picture that the first 3 tiles height-wise on the bath tub are actually a different colour than the wall, but with some trickery, I used a protruding border to break the colour gradation which I got installed around the perimeter of the bathroom wall above the third tile, and as the tiles and the border are from the same manufacturer and have the same texture as the pink tiles, it's not too bad and it's not sore on the eye.
The floor as you see carries the same pattern of the beige tiles in the middle (actually it's an L-shape, but you can't see it from the picture) and the white tile which the shop had plenty of.
Believe it or not, they've still to come and seal around the marble counter top and the sink....

But I crapped all over the bastards yesterday and threw the stupid "tile artiste" out on his ass. The bastard did enough damage...
This morning they brought another "artiste" and he seems to be a bit better at aligning tiles, so there is hope.
There is still another 10% to do before they finish, and that has taken over a week now.
I hate coming to this house now.
But at least tonight there was a nice surprise sprung on me!
they've finally finished the living room last night. the maid has been directed to scrub the room completely in preparation for us to move the furniture back into it finally... maybe by tonight we will feel that we're no longer living in a construction site. at least as far as downstairs is concerned. they're still laying the tiles in the master bathroom and they promise (yeah sure) that they'll be finished and out of our house by this friday... yeah sure.
nonetheless, there is real progress now I feel.
maybe I'll delay my nervous breakdown until the bastards finally leave my house.
