Good acting, timely delivery, and likability, amongst many other factors, all of which are missing from Owen Wilson.
I have never watched a movie with this guy in it that I enjoyed. The look of his face, his nose and his permanent pout just grates on my nerves. nails on chalkboards, that's the feeling I get whenever I see him massacre a role he is given.
The family and i went to watch "You, Me and Dupree" tonight at Saar Cinema, thinking that it will be a few laughs, and it was, just a few though mingled with an awful lot of mental groans. And had the Censorship Office not chop quite a few gratuitous scenes, I would have probably had to sit for another 5 minutes and suffer through them until this crap actually finished. Don't get me wrong, I am totally against censorship, I do not agree with it at all, but in this instance as it shortened the time I had to endure this rubbish, I was actually thankful to the dickhead who experienced a few hard-ons and decided to rob the audience from the chance of getting one!
Any way. My rating for this movie: 1/10 and that goes for the delectable Kate Hudson for just being alive.
It's been one of those days... nothing seems to be going right:
1. Went to register the house at the registry office together with my next door neighbour in the same land deed (yes, the same land deed, but that's another story. The stupidity of the laws here are astounding and the clear wasta is astounding.. but again, that's another story) and after looking through all the documents and everything seemed to be in order, my house purchase agreement which is renewed every year until it is formally registered in the document has just expired. Last month actually! So I have to locate the buyer again to recreate that document and re-notarize it. The guy is away on holiday and I have no idea when he's coming back. The next door neighbour is leaving pilgrimage tomorrow, and Ramadhan is starting on or around Sept 26. Grrrrrr. I'll get it done, but all of this crap is dragging me down.
2. We had a small shipment of firewire cards come in, and the customs wouldn't release them as the guy that looked at our shipment arbitrarily decided that it was undervalued. So customs won't release it unless we produce an original invoice. We explained to them that these are purchased online through Amazon and shipped through UShopWeShip, they wouldn't believe us. Of course we are guilty until proven otherwise. So I had to dig through Amazon to get an invoice for that shipment, print it out and take it to them for them to accept that we didn't try to cheat the government of its pound of flesh. Grrrrr.
3. Our new maid was supposed to have come today, we even paid extra to upgrade her reservations status. She didn't turn up at the airport, when the agent tracked her down they were told that her husband changed him mind at the last second and refused to let her travel. The alternate failed her medical with complications in her lungs. We lost the price of the ticket as we thought we could do the thing faster than the agent, and we did, but we didn't bank on the stupid women doing a bunk already. Now we're back to square one.
4. Driving back home from dad's after lunch and collecting our maid who helps mum almost every morning, I notice a really strange gringing noise. I also notice the car being very strange in handling, a bit rough rather than the usual smooth ride, I stop at the emergency layby and I find that the rear left hand side tyre completely chewed up! I barely make it to the office parking lot and call the emergency Porsche response who send a truck to take the car to the garage. We arrive at the garage and the workers are all tut-tutting that there is no way that can be fixed and must be replaced! They call the agent, fortunately they have it in stock, the price? BD 164 (last price! that's $434) and that's for ONE tyre! Ok, no choice, order it and get it fixed. They graciously give me a lift home and they promise to call me once done. They call 90 minutes later and I go and collect the car. Phew! Grrrr.5. I come home. We're fresh out of something to drink! Ah well. Grrrrr.
6. I try to access Mahmood's Den, and the site is down for some reason! Raised a ticket and am still waiting for it to come up... Grrrrr.
Let's hope that tomorrow is a better day.
Arif has subjected us to the worst movie ever. It's a black movie called The Cookout, and I can tell you that absolutely nothing about it is worth the celluloid they expended to film this monstrosity.
My free advice to you is if you ever get forced between giving up your life and watching this crap, choose giving up your life. At least dying with dignity is still a good thing.
